FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
HOW MUCH DOES THERAPY COST?
Individual sessions are $200 for 50 minutes, by private pay. I also accept Cigna, Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, United Behavioral Health, Optum and Oscar insurance. If you have any other insurance with out-of-network benefits, I will gladly provide documentation for this.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO MY FIRST SESSION?
Just bring yourself! All paperwork will be completed before you step in the door, so there will be no added stress to arrive early to fill out forms. After you make your initial appointment, I will send you an email with a link to a secure client portal where you can fill out all the necessary information online.
DO YOU OFFER SLIDING SCALE RATES?
Yes. I recognize that therapy can be expensive and living in New York is not cheap! If you are having financial difficulties, I will work with you to find a rate that fits your budget.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT IN MY FIRST VISIT?
It is normal to feel anxious prior to your first session, just as it is normal to feel anxious before a job interview, your first day of work at a new job, or a first date. Because most of the paperwork is done before we meet, there are no expectations for the first session. You can come in and talk for an hour straight, or sit back and I will take the lead. Most of the first session will be learning about each other, and there will be very little "therapy" taking place.
